Vacancy: Emergency Response and Training Internship

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our Cultural Emergency Response (CER) Team for a six-month internship. The intern will play a key role in supporting CER in project research, as well as the organization of training initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the protection of cultural heritage in crisis situations, engage in capacity-building efforts, and gain valuable experience in event management within an international context. This internship is for students based in the Netherlands

Responsibilities:

  • Project research: emergency response to documentary heritage: Conduct desk research and contribute to the development of Covernotes for emergency response projects focused on documentary heritage. This involves critical information analysis, engaging with partners and external experts, and developing well-written project assessments to support decision-making.
  • Event coordination: Assist in the logistical planning and execution of events. This includes for example, logistics such as venue reservations, transport and visa application coordination, participant support and communication, scheduling, and on-site support.
  • Administrative support: Help with administrative tasks such as maintaining databases, document management, preparing materials for courses and events, and managing correspondence with participants and stakeholders.
  • Communication and outreach: Contribute to outreach efforts by drafting content for newsletters, social media posts, and website updates to promote CER initiatives and events.

Skills:

  • Interest in and commitment to protecting cultural heritage in crisis situations.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience in event management or capacity building initiatives is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is desirable but not required.

Work hours and remuneration:

  • The internship position will require approximately 32 hours per week, spread over 4 days (Monday to Thursday).
  • The internship offers a monthly stipend of 500 EUR.
